The goal of our organization is to help students who may not be interested in traditional college transition out of high school and into the workforce. Our program combines job skill sets with progressive life skills that prepare students to be engaged and active Cleveland residents. This model is an unprecedented approach to both economic and workforce development and community revitalization. We hope that as The Kids are employed to renovate these inner city homes, the Cleveland Metropolitan area sees improvements in teen-to-resident relations and an enhanced quality of life for neighborhood residents.
Our vision is to see The Kids of 216 expand from one 10-week summer cohort into four distinct cohorts throughout the year, allowing the organization to help 100 out-of-school youth work their way out of poverty every year, all while renovating key demographic areas of the city.
The Kids of 216 supports employment and instruction for at-risk youth interested in vocational trades in an effort to assist our future workers and leaders to better higher education and career paths.
